The National Foundation for the Improvement of The Horses Breed (Ex Establishment of the National Stud farms based in 1913) is a public institution created in 1988 by the law n°82-88 of July 11th, 1988.
The National Stud of Sidi Thabet, 1866, became specialized in the breeding of Pure Bred Arab Tunisian, located north of the country, in the governorate of Ariana.
The National Haras El Battan, located north of the country, in the governorate of Manouba, hosts all national standards of Thoroughbred races, Beard, Arab-Barb and Pony Mogods and supervises the activities of stations
The National Stud Raccada to Maknassy and Ben Guerdane located in the center and south of the country respectively in the governorates of Kairouan, Sidi Bouzid and Medenine, ensure the horse farm mating Arabian horse, Beard and Arab-Barb.
31 Up stations spread over the whole territory of the country and open during the breeding season
(15 February to 15 June each year) to horses Beard, Arab-Barb and Pony Mogods.
